ISIS Claims Another Deadly Bomb Attack Against Shiites in Saudi Arabia

A week after at least 21 people were killed and more than 100 injured in a Shiite mosque bombing on the east coast of Saudi Arabia that ISIS took credit for, the group claimed responsibility Friday for a similar attack in the same region that killed at least four. From Reuters:The claim for Friday's bombing, which was posted on a Facebook page used by the extremist group, said a "soldier of the caliphate" identified as Abu Jandal al-Jazrawi, blew himself up among "an evil gathering of those filth in front of one of their shrines in Dammam."

Ethiopia remains peaceful after general elections

By Kaylen Tanner Ethiopian-American Yonas Gebreselasse believes his home country is still on the right track, despite European Union claims this week’s parliamentary election was unfair. While recognizing Ethiopian free speech is not what he experiences in the United States, Gebreselasse believes Ethiopia’s vote on Sunday kept the best party in power. The May 24 vote gave the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front an estimated 442 of the 547 seats in parliament. Final results are expected June 22.

Ethiopia to build biggest air cargo hub in Africa

Ethiopian Airlines’ drive to become a global carrier is to be supported by the construction of a world-class cargo terminal at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. The $98m terminal, which will be the size of five football grounds, is to be designed by German engineer Unitechnik Group. According to Unitechnik, the new terminal will be able to handle 600,000 tonnes of freight a year: more than four times the capacity of the existing facility, which was built by the same firm in 2006. After that, planning will begin on a further expansion to 1.2 million tonnes a year, making the terminal one of the largest in the world.
